After reviewing every influenza vaccine study conducted between 1948 and 2007, the Cochrane Collaboration (an independent research organization) concluded in 2009: "There is no evidence whatsoever that seasonal influenza vaccines have any effect, especially in the elderly and young children. No evidence of reduced cases, deaths or complications." Okay, perhaps Swine Flu was a virus 'at large' two years ago... (although it didn't kill anywhere near the amount of people as ordinary flu does each year). Plus, it hardly turned into the pandemic the so-called 'experts' predicted... the same pandemic prophets who were later found to have had ties with the pharmaceutical companies developing and promoting flu vaccine drugs. These guys and their cronies must think we're a bunch of fools, because they are at it again: Brace yourself, the annual seasonal flu and vaccine scaremongering campaign has begun! The UK government is advising pregnant women to urgently get vaccinated this winter, after an Oxford University study revealed that stillbirths were five times more likely among those suffering from swine flu.

Given all the misinformation and conflicting reports about Swine Flu, and flu in general, that government agencies have bombarded Joe Public with over the past few years, tt's hardly surprising that many people are confused at the moment, In December 2010, the media circus erupted once again with headlines claiming that Swine Flu was returning with a vengeance, after the pandemic threat of 2009. To add to our confusion, it was reported that Swine Flu actually ended up saving lives rather than costing them... Jumping from being a pandemic in 2009 to being a life saver in 2010 is a massive leap!

A lot has been said in the past few weeks about the threat of a second wave of the H1N1 flu virus this year, especially with the approaching winter months. Whilst we are being told a vaccine is on the way, we all know that its development has been rushed and that it would not have undergone adequate safety testing – irrespective of the fact that there are numerous studies showing that vaccines simply don’t work. See last week’s article: Swine Flu: Mass H1N1 vaccination threat, for more details.

As I‘ve said in previous alerts, we need to approach this whole debacle by saying: This year the flu will be a bit tougher and more aggressive than in the past. You have at your disposal tools to bolster your immune system and drastically reduce your risk of colds and the flu. You do not need a vaccine to do this. In fact, a vaccine could easily make your health worse.

Today I may just make things a bit easier for you. Two herbal remedies your medicine chest should never be without are Echinacea and Astragalus. Both of these are powerful immune boosters that can help you to be more resilient all year round.

The average person catches between 2 to 4 colds a year and will come down with flu at least once a year. With no cure in sight for colds or flu, current treatments can relieve symptoms or shorten the duration of those symptoms. You can take a variety of medications that may help relieve your symptoms or you can take the natural approach.

There are so many myths going around about colds and flu that it can make it more difficult to understand and treat these two ailments. For instance, many people think you are more likely to catch a cold in the autumn or winter. Fact or myth? Let’s take a look.

Both the common cold and flu are among the most common health complaints. Both illnesses are respiratory illnesses but they are caused by different viruses. Because these illnesses share the same symptoms it can be difficult to tell them apart based on symptoms alone.

It isnt just the cold weather that makes you more prone to colds and flu during the winter months.
