The Link Between Low Cholesterol Levels and Cancer
Date: 01/02/11
The cholesterol debate is well and truly making waves at the moment... and rightfully so. For far too long we’ve had the wool pulled over our eyes by mainstream medicine.
In his previous post on our blog, The Cholesterol Truth, we showed contributing editor and health expert Dr. John Briffa, being interviewed on Channel 4 News in response to the results of a recent comprehensive study, suggesting that statins are ineffective in many cases, and could even be doing more harm than good.
This story created such a big uproar among our readers, that I cannot help but wonder how much longer Big Pharma and mainstream medicine can continue to get away with plugging statins as an all out ‘wonder drug.’
Lower your LDL levels — but at what cost to your health?
This week, Dr. Briffa talks in depth about what researchers have known for some time: Driving your cholesterol levels to low is associated with an increased risk of dying from cancer.
His post makes truly shocking reading. Especially when you consider that millions of people take statins everyday to lower their cholesterol levels and their risk of suffering a heart attack or stroke. They do so based on advice given by the medical mainstream... like the LDL-cholesterol guidelines given by the National Cholesterol Education Programme, in the US.
By blindly trusting these guidelines, Joe Public remain totally unaware that they might be seriously compromising their health by pushing their cholesterol down to dangerously low levels – with or without the help of side- effect ridden statin drugs.
As doctor Briffa points out in his latest post, there is enough evidence now to suggest that low cholesterol levels do not automatically spell a longer life and good health — quite the opposite in fact.
