Last week, it came to light that Dr. Dipak K Das, director of the Cardiovascular Research Center at the University of Connecticut, in the US, allegedly doctored the results of at least 26 peer-reviewed resveratrol studies, over a period of seven years. The University launched a probe of Das in 2008, after an anonymous tipster alerted the US Office of Research Integrity. The university review board concluded that Das manipulated research data in at least 145 instances, which was cited in 26 prestigious medical journals.

You can imagine how the parents must feel after they've agreed to vaccinate their child based on the fact that doctors and nurses told them that there is no evidence that these injections can be dangerous. That's just appalling and in my eyes even criminal! It's these same doctors and so-called health professionals that like to portray anyone who disagrees with them as clueless, "anti-vax" loons who stubbornly refuse to understand how safe vaccines really are. See, these "pro-vaxers" take great joy in any evidence — no matter how thin — that suggests there's no link between vaccines and autism, narcolepsy, CFS and much worse side effects.

Judging by the mainstream's relentless drive to push dangerous vaccines like Gardasil and Cervarix, onto our daughters (and even our sons!) it doesn't look like we'll hear the end of horrifying stories about their side effects soon. I strongly believe that parents need to sit down with the teenagers in their house and fully explain the dangers of Gardasil or Cervarix... as we all know this vaccine is often punted as a 'safe sex' jab!

Earlier this week, the UK Prime Minister David Cameron announced plans that will allow seriously ill patients to have access to 'promising' new drugs, as much as a year before they are licenced for general use. In other words, drugs that are still in development will be tested in hospital trials on terminally ill patients.

On 5th December, a European Commission committee will put forward a proposal for an EU-wide Regulation that will establish a list of authorised 'general function' health claims. If these regulations get the green-light, all general function health claims for commercial food and food supplement products that are not authorised, will be banned across all 27 EU Member States, within the next 6 months! Suffice to say, this is very bad news indeed for natural and alternative medicine. Of the 44,000 health claims that were submitted, only 224 (these are limited to just 70 foods or food ingredients) were approved and appear on the draft list. This excludes many botanical substances and probiotics. However, after a massive industry backlash, when around 1500 claims for botanicals and probiotics were largely rejected, public pressure forced the EFSA to re-evaluate these claims.

Since its launch, in 2008, thousands of teenage girls have been misled into believing that Cervarix is an anti-cancer jab. Yet, it only protects against two strains of the HPV virus, when in fact, there are more than 100 subtypes of HPV, and most sexually active women will have had the virus at some stage in their lives. Usually, the body's natural defences defeat the virus, and most women never even know they had it in the first place... In spite of this, the mainstream still claims that Cervarix will protect against the sexually transmitted human pappiloma virus (HPV), which experts say is the cause of 70 per cent of cervical cancer cases.

Nutritional supplements are under siege! Despite their impeccable safety record, the FDA has issued new rules — called The New Dietary Ingredients. These stringent regulations will see to it that some of the most effective nutrients, like resveratrol, CoQ10 ubiquinol... bacopa... strontium... and many more, will be pulled from the market... supplements and natural remedies will be regulated and tested like they were pharmaceuticals!

A recent investigation conducted by the Department of Health, who found that often whole families are told to find a new doctor after raising a complaint or questioning the treatment they received... THe report exposed how thousands of people are mistreated by their doctors and how the complaints procedure at the National health Service is deplorable to say the least...

A recent study, published in the prestigious Archives of Internal Medicine, reported that women over the age of 55 who take vitamin or mineral supplements may die sooner than their supplement- free counterparts. The Finnish researchers used data from three self-reporting questionnaire surveys to determine whether or not the use of supplements would reduce the risk of death.

The UK government is considering a 'fat tax' similar to one recently introduced in Denmark, where a surcharge is being placed on foods that contain more than 2.3 per cent saturated fat... all in an effort to promote healthy eating and to stop the obesity epidemic. If this is not a shining example of how governments and the mainstream are sending out the wrong message, then I don't know what is! Higher tax rates on certain food products are not the answer to combating obesity, diabetes or heart disease... It's a clever and blatantly transparent way of milking more money out of Joe Public's pockets!
