Warning: Swine Flu Vaccine May Cause Narcolepsy
Date: 15/02/11
Keywords: Glaxo-Smith-Kline (GSK), Tamiflu, adverse side effects, Swine Flu, Vaccination, H1N1 flu virus, narcolepsy
Narcolepsy is a rare condition where a person falls asleep suddenly and unexpectedly... almost one and a half years after the Swine Flu scare, reports of adverse side effects from the Pandemrix vaccine are flooding in.
So far, 60 cases of narcolepsy have been reported in Sweden, 52 cases in Finland and 4 in the UK.
When I first heard about the speed at which the H1N1 Swine
Flu vaccines were developed, back in 2009, I knew something
was going to go wrong...
Vaccines are usually developed over a minimum period of 26 weeks, before trials start to test their safety and effectiveness... However, in the wake of the 2009 Swine Flu scare, pharmaceutical giants like Baxter International (a major player in the race to develop a H1N1 vaccine), announced they had a patented cell-based technology which reduced the vaccine development time to 13 weeks... That’s half the normal time!
On top of that, in response to the WHO’s Phase 6 alert level with the ‘outbreak of the pandemic’, the US Centres for Disease Control (CDC) declared the H1N1 flu pandemic a public health emergency, which allowed the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to authorise drug companies to “fast-track” experimental vaccines. Meaning the new vaccines weren’t tested as thoroughly as vaccines which move through the normal licensing (and developing) process.
Something will go wrong!
It wasn’t just Baxter’s fast-tracked and untested vaccine that was let loose on millions of people, but pharmaceutical companies like GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) also jumped on the bandwagon to develop a vaccine and cash in on this handy little money-spinner...
Now, almost one and a half years later, reports of adverse side effects are flooding in. So much so that the WHO (the organisation who started the whole pandemic debacle), this week said that further investigation was warranted following reports of cases of narcolepsy linked to the Pandemrix jab (made by GSK).
Narcolepsy is a rare condition where a person falls asleep suddenly and unexpectedly.
The Pandemrix vaccine, has been used in 47 countries following the swine flu outbreak. More than six million doses of the H1N1 vaccine have been given in the UK and 30 million given across Europe.
So far, 60 cases of narcolepsy have been reported in Sweden, 52 cases in Finland and 4 in the UK.
In Finland, the national narcolepsy panel's interim report suggests that the Pandemrix vaccine increases the risk of narcolepsy nearly tenfold. It found that children aged 4 to 19 were at nine times greater risk of contracting narcolepsy within eight months of the inoculation being administered, compared with those who did not get the jab.
Finland’s Permanent Secretary at the Ministery of Social Affairs and Health, said: "The trigger for narcolepsy remains unclear, which makes it difficult to evaluate the link to the vaccine."
Fox in the chicken pen
In response to the Finnish report, the WHO's global advisory committee on vaccine safety said the committee would continue to monitor the situation but that an increased risk of narcolepsy had not been observed with any other vaccines - for flu or other diseases - in the past.
Even though Pandemrix was not approved in the US, the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) felt it was necessary to get in their own two cent’s worth... Their response to the Finnish report was: “Based on our evaluation of data to date, there is nothing that suggests an association between narcolepsy and the 2009 H1N1 pandemic vaccines that were licensed and used in the US.”
Of course, the FDA would say this, to calm the mob so to speak. In 1976 (during a similar pandemic scare) Guillain- Barre syndrome was linked to the vaccine used at the time to inoculate millions of Americans... resulting in thousands of claims, massive lawsuits and millions being paid out to those affected...
But in the US, they know how to cover their tracks. In the wake of the swine flu scare, the US Department of Health and Human Services Secretary, Kathleen Sibelius, gave immunity to the makers of Tamiflu and Relenza for injuries stemming from their use against swine flu. Not only that, but she also granted immunity to future swine flu vaccines and “any associated adjuvants.”
If you ask me, there’s a fox in the chicken pen and it cannot be ignored...
It’s clear that our governments, medical authorities and Big Pharma are a reckless band of brothers, cashing in on the ‘medical monopoly’ they’ve created, at the cost of innocent lives.
This makes the words of Prof David Speigelhalter, Professor of the Public Understanding of Risk at the University of Cambridge, even more ominous... In 2009, in the wake of concerns about the safety of these fast-tracked vaccines, he said: “If millions of people are vaccinated then just by chance we can expect bad things to happen to some of them, whether it is diagnosis of autism or miscarriage.”
They sound like the kind of risks I'd rather not take thanks.
