Flawed Study Fails To Show Real Benefits Of Vitamin E

Date: 14/12/11

It always amuses me, that in almost every vitamin E study conducted by the mainstream, the researchers use a synthetic form of vitamin E. This type of vitamin E is rubbish and should only be used EXTERNALLY because it's a molecule shape that the body cannot digest properly. However, if the researchers GENUINELY wanted to test Vitamin E's potential to prevent prostate cancer, they would have used d-alpha or the full spectrum of tocopherols and tocotrienols. Using the proper form of vitamin E, would have produced VERY different results...

Believe the latest vitamin E study results? It's easy to be swayed, given how year after year a new study pops up like clockwork, that 'proves' how bad vitamin E really is. a new study pops up like clockwork, that 'proves' how bad vitamin E really is.

This recent study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, is no different. In fact, it was one of those "gold standard" studies — the type mainstreamers love so much: double-blind, placebo-controlled, more than 35,500 subjects, a long intervention period (seven years for some, 12 years for others).

Thanks we'll pass

To be honest, with all that flash and dazzle, I wouldn't blame you for being tempted to believe the reported doom and gloom of vitamin E's prostate cancer risks.

As a regular reader of the Daily Health, you'll probably know by now that there's almost always a catch. Especially when the mainstream starts blowing the results out of all proportion and makes wild, ridiculous claims... After all, defence is the best form of attack.

It turns out that this year's vitamin E slam is so far off the mark that it's actually laughable... not to mention a massive waste of time and money, given that the study involved so many participants and took years to complete.

Failure 101

It always amuses me, that in almost every vitamin E study conducted by the mainstream, the researchers use a synthetic form of vitamin E. This type of vitamin E is rubbish and should only be used EXTERNALLY because it's a molecule shape that the body cannot digest properly.

However, if the researchers GENUINELY wanted to test Vitamin E's potential to prevent prostate cancer, they would have used d-alpha or the full spectrum of tocopherols and tocotrienols. Using the proper form of vitamin E, would have produced VERY different results...

This leads me to believe that perhaps the researchers wanted a negative outcome, especially when you consider the mainstream's attitude towards alternative and natural remedies.

In fact, this study reeks of conflict of interest and it has Big Pharma written all over it...especially when you read who was involved:

Merck appears three times, Pfizer twice, Novartis twice, AstraZeneca twice, and sanofi-aventis, Abbott, Janssen, and Amgen all appear once. One researcher has financial links to three of those companies, and has also received consulting fees, and payment for lectures and development of educational presentations for Firmagon — a drug that treats prostate cancer. Another researcher is co-founder of Cancer Prevention Pharmaceuticals.

Like they say: This game was fixed from the start. My verdict is:

Big Pharma – 0

Vitamin E – 1 (gained on penalty)
